Emilia van Hauen

CULTURAL SOCIOLOGIST, KEYNOTE SPEAKER & BOARD MEMBER

I am a cultural sociologist and marketing expert and one of Scandinavia most sought-after keynote speakers and most quoted sociologist on the topics of current trends and social tendencies and phenomena. I am especially concerned about modern ways of life and social trends, with a particular focus on generations Y, Z and Alpha and gender thematic. 

I am a TEDx Copenhagen speaker and have given talks in a number of other big international events, blog for Huffington Post and contribute on a regular basis in the major, tone-setting daily newspapers, magazines, TV stations and radio channels in Denmark, and have also had the opportunity to comment on Danish society in foreign media, including BBC World, the BBC, RTL, Libération, the Japanese Asahi Shimbun Global newspaper, French Elle and various Swedish and Norwegian media outlets. In addition to this, she is a board member in three companies, one is the Danish cultural institution Messecenter Herning.

In 2001 I graduated in the social sciences, hold the HD(A) (bachelor in business administration and marketing) and have taken the Copenhagen Business School’s Executive Board Program (completed with honours).

As an author I have published six books, two bestsellers. My latest, The tyranny of success – and the way out, 2017, Rosinante, followed my second bestseller, Ladycool: Your Gender is a Strength, Use It! from 2014, Politikens Forlag. In March 2009 I published the bestseller: Goodbye Egofest and Hello to Goals and Communities with Akademisk Forlag, and focused on the shift happening in the contemporary zeitgeist. The others are MotherhoodLeadership (2004), The Myth of the Perfect Mother (2003), both with Aschehoug, and The Elite (1998) with Forlaget Møntergården. 

Boardwise I am member of The Danish cultural institution Messecenter Herning and have more than 8 years of experience in different boards. I am also an ambassador for Girltalk, which is a humanitarian organization helping young girls, and am a founding member of several networks with a business or social mission.
